New Caney ISD is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike DeWitt as head football coach and campus athletic coordinator at New Caney High School. DeWitt is in his twenty third year of teaching and coaching. He has eight years of experience as an athletic coordinator/head football coach. He has also served as a defensive coordinator for eight years. He has coached at McKinney Boyd, Coppell, Frisco Liberty, Hebron, and Tom Bean. Mike is a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. He was also was a four-year letterman on the football team at Southeastern and a team captain his senior year. He is married to Amanda, and they have three sons, Matthew, Nathan, and Jonathan.
