NCHS Junior competes in High School Voice Studio Auditions 
Aylin Verde Alejandro April 4, 2017 | Yes Minded | Aylin Verde Alejandro, a junior at New Caney High School, was selected as a Finalist in the Houston Grand Opera Bauer Family High School Voice Studio Auditions on Saturday, April 1 at Klein High School.  
The mission the High School Voice Studio is to identify and nurture high school students who exhibit extraordinary talent and are interested in pursuing vocal performance at the collegiate level. The program guides aspiring students to develop healthy vocal technique and artistic expression within a rigorous and supportive environment and offers guidance with the collegiate audition process. Many students from around the Houston area applied to audition at one of four locations on Saturday where Finalists were selected.
“Aylin is doing a tremendous job and is very talented," said Kathleen Staten, HGO Education Director. "We look forward to hearing her again.”
All students selected as Finalists will attend the final round of auditions on April 9 at the Wortham Center in Houston. Following that round of auditions, student selected to be 2017-18 Members of the HSVS will receive Voice Lessons from local Vocal Coaches from the University of Houston, Rice University and Sam Houston State University; attend monthly master classes with voice professionals, as well as having the opportunity to perform as the cast in the World Premiere of “The House Without a Christmas Tree”, which will be performed at the Wortham Center in December 2017.
