Darst Funeral Home Partners with NCISD Education Foundation
John Darst of Darst Funeral Home is a F.A.N. of The New Caney ISD Education Foundation. F.A.N. stands for Funding Academic innovation. When the non-profit formed in 2013, Darst was the very first donor. His continued support over the past four years has supported educational opportunities for New Caney students. "Children have always been very special to me" shares the grandfather of eight. "I believe children are the basis of our community."
Combining his love of children and education, Darst is partnering with The New Caney ISD Education Foundation in an effort to further their mission of "enhancing education through teacher grants". Darst Funeral Home offers pre-planning for funerals and cremations. They specialize in traditional ceremonies to intimate garden tributes. Addressing funeral needs is fiscally wise, assures your wishes are met and takes a tremendous stress off your family.
Dedicated individuals from The Education Foundation will receive support from Darst as we he offers a plan to encourage people to pre-plan with purpose and philanthropy. Darst Funeral Homes reasonable pricing has not been altered as he offers that each pre-plan sold before the end of 2016. Pre-planning customers are encouraged to donate up to half of the pre-paid plan costs to The New Caney ISD Education Foundation. The payment needs to be made out to The Education Foundation and delivered to Mr. Darst although the pre-planning customer receives full tax benefit for supporting this 501c3 entity. The remaining balance can be paid in full or financed over time through Darst Funeral Home with no interest.
Consider the legacy you will create by pre-planning while supporting education and the children in our community. Michele Dykstra, Executive Director of The New Caney ISD Education Foundation acknowledges and appreciates their partnership with Darst Funeral Home. "We are grateful for Mr. Darst's continued and consistent support of our mission. This fund raising effort will allow us to award additional teacher grants in 2017 and the potential to positively impact thousands of children."
The word "foundation" means a solid footing on which to build. Through dedicated volunteers and community partners like Darst Funeral Home, The Education Foundation is developing a solid base from which to grow and are poised to make dreams come true for teachers and students alike. Darst adds "The children are the foundation". If you would like to be a part of this foundational effort, we invite you to contact The Education Foundation's VP of Development, Vern Reichert.
