New Caney ISD announces Holiday Greeting Card Design Contest winners

November 17, 2016 | Effective Communicators | Several students from across the district are winners of the annual New Caney ISD Holiday Greeting Card Design Contest.

Students created holiday cards that had to include images and text related to New Caney ISD. Four winners were selected from the following categories: elementary school, middle school, high school visual art, and high school graphic arts.

The winners are:

Brett Moon, 4th grade, Crippen Elementary.

Anika Busra, 8th grade, Woodridge Forest Middle School.

Amanda Riddle, 12th grade, New Caney High School, High School Art category.

Abagayle Smith-Vallejo, 12th grade, New Caney High School, high school digital art category.

Each campus conducted the art competition to select finalists. Each elementary school sent three entries, each middle school sent five entries, and each high school sent five art entries and five digital graphic art entries. The entries were voted on by the entire central office staff in the preliminary judging and a natural break was made for the finalist, based on total number of votes. The finalists were then selected by a vote, again by the central office staff.

Winners will receive a $25 gift card, a printed set of 25 of their cards and they will be recognized at the December 12 NCISD Board of Trustees meeting. Copies of the cards will be printed and sent out to district employees and members of the community.

New Caney ISD congratulates all the winners of the 2016 Holiday Card Contest.
