The Eagles won 28-7 against the Spartans in a highly anticipated game which sold out of tickets on both sides of Texan Drive Stadium. Both teams were undefeated at 6-0 in District 21-5A and they are both headed for the playoffs.
The two high schools also collected money the week of the game for Camp Hope, a Houston-based facility for veterans dealing with Post Traumatic Stress can receive counseling, peer-to-peer mentoring from other veterans and assistance for their families.
Community members also made cash donations during the Battle Line on 59 game. All efforts combined raised more than $4,000 for Camp Hope and the PTSD Foundation of America.
