  • Porter HS Band Earns 5th Sweepstakes!

PHS Varsity band competed at UIL Concert and Sight-reading yesterday and earned a straight-one rating in both stage and sight-reading, which earned them their 5th sweepstakes since opening. To earn the prestigious sweepstakes award for band, the students must earn a 1st Division rating in marching band, concert band, and sight-reading. The students performed extremely difficult literature that is normally required of high-level 6A schools, and they performed beautifully this weekend with some of the best comments the band has ever received.
