Texan Dodge Partners with NCISD Helping Hands Closet

As part of their We’re HEAR For You program, Texan Dodge has partnered with the New Caney ISD Helping Hands Closet to provide our families with essential supplies. Beginning this summer and continuing through the school year, Texan Dodge donated 250 food bags and 100 bags of hygiene supplies, serving over 300 of our families.

The We’re HEAR For You program began in 2020, and has evolved into a large-scale project that allows Texan Dodge to serve the needs of their community. Their focus on providing nutritious meals to those in need led to the Helping Hands partnership.

“We decided to donate to New Caney ISD in the summer of 2024 as part of our company wide project that focused on food insecurity,” Texan Dodge HR Manager Priscilla Rios said. “While summer is generally an exciting time, for many kids it means an end to the free and reduced-price school meals they depend on during the school year. This project allowed us to put together bags and deliver them to local schools for kids to take home during the summer break.”

Texan Dodge began its partnership with the Helping Hands Closet because the closet is a trusted resource for the NCISD community. Families in need know they can rely on the Helping Hands Closet for essential resources like clothing and food, which are donated by businesses and families within our community.

The Helping Hands Closet is continuously accepting donations to meet the growing demand from families in need. In the past, the Closet has partnered with major organizations such as Walmart and Kroger, and it currently works closely with the Montgomery County Food Bank. Now, Texan Dodge has joined this important network of supporters.

Cypris Potts, Title 1 Coordinator, explains that the Helping Hands Closet's ultimate goal is to keep expanding its services and reach even more families.

With the ongoing support of Texan Dodge, the Closet will be able to assist many families within the New Caney ISD community, helping students and their families focus on education without the added stress of having to purchase essential supplies.

“This program allows us to live our values of treating people right through hands-on service opportunities,” Texan Dodge HR Manager Priscilla Rios said. “We hope this donation brings joy and cheer to every child that benefits from it.”
