The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Brittany Horton to be the new principal of West Fork High School. Horton will take over the role for the 2026-2027 school year after serving as the dean of instruction at Keefer Crossing Middle School since 2025.
“It is truly exciting to step into the role of principal at West Fork High School, as it feels like coming home,” Ms. Horton said. “I had the privilege of helping open West Fork and contributing to the strong culture that makes attending our school such a unique and meaningful experience for students, staff, and parents.”
Ms. Horton has 14 years of educational experience, serving 11 years as a teacher and coach in Mesquite ISD, Willis ISD, Humble ISD, and Huffman ISD. In 2022, Ms. Horton joined New Caney ISD as a science teacher, assistant basketball coach, and track coach. Since then, Ms. Horton has served as an instructional coach, assistant principal, and dean of instruction. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from East Texas Baptist University and her Master of Education from Lamar University.
When asked what she is most excited about in her new role, Ms. Horton said, “I look forward to sustaining the culture of excellence that has been built by our students, staff, and families over the past four years. Together, we will continue to positively impact our students while expanding the opportunities and experiences that make West Fork so special.”
