The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Ashley Larkey to be the next principal at Kings Manor Elementary. Larkey took over the role on January 6, 2025, after joining KME this year as an assistant principal.
“Becoming the principal of Kings Manor Elementary is truly an honor and a dream come true. I feel an immense sense of pride and excitement to be part of a community that values growth, collaboration, and the success of every child,” Larkey said.
With over 10 years of experience, Ms. Larkey has held a multitude of titles, including elementary teacher from 2014-2016, school counselor from 2016-2019, and assistant principal from 2019-2024. Prior to working in New Caney ISD, Ms. Larkey has worked in Waco ISD, Temple ISD, Copperas Cove ISD, Meridian World School, and Conroe ISD.
Ms. Larkey received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Education in Counseling from Texas A&M University Central Texas, and she is currently working on a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at Sam Houston State University. She also completed the Professional Principal Preparation Program at Lamar University.
When asked what she is most excited about in her new role as principal, she said, “what I look forward to most is building strong relationships with our students, families, and staff, and working together to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment. I’m eager to celebrate our achievements, embrace new opportunities, and ensure every student feels empowered to reach their full potential.”
