From January 7 to January 31, 2025, the Gifted & Talented (GT) students at Porter Elementary are conducting a stuffed animal drive to benefit the New Caney ISD Helping Hands Closet.

The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Rodree Carlile to be the Head of School for Highlands Elementary. Carlile took over the role on January 6, 2025, after serving as the principal at Kings Manor Elementary since 2022.

The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Ashley Larkey to be the next principal at Kings Manor Elementary. Larkey took over the role on January 6, 2025, after joining KME this year as an assistant principal.
