Registration for current students returning to New Caney ISD for the 2026-2027 school year will open on July 13, 2026.  For more information on registering returning students, visit our Returning Student Registration page.

2026-2027 New Student Registration

  1. Fill out New Student Online Registration application. 
    **New Student Online Registration will open July 13.**
     
  2. Bring the following documents to centralized registration: 
    • Valid photo identification of parent or guardian
    • Immunization/shot records
    • Most recent report card or transcript
    • Proof of residency (utility bill or lease agreement showing the physical address of parent or guardian)
    • Custody or guardianship documents relating to the student
    • Social Security Card
    • Certified Copy/Official Birth Certificate

New Student Centralized Registration will be held at Porter High School: 
July 21, 2026 from 11am to 7pm
July 22, 2026 from 9am to 5pm
July 23, 2026 from 9am to 5pm

If you are enrolling after centralized registration, you will need to bring the documents to your home campus.

Vaccine Information

The Texas Vaccine institute will be onsite both days to provide childhood immunizations needed for school enrollment. All forms of payment and most insurance accepted.

**Medicaid is not accepted.**

Students Eligible for Pre-Kindergarten

To be eligible for enrollment in a free pre-kindergarten, a child must be at least four years of age on or before September 1, 2026 of the current school year and meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:

  • unable to speak and comprehend the English language (please bring child for testing) 
  • is educationally disadvantaged (which means a student eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program; or
    • is homeless, as defined by 42 USC, §11434a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the childs
    • is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority
    • is the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
    • is or has ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Family Code §262.201 or has been in foster care in another state or territory, but currently lives in Texas
    • is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as:
