We are excited to welcome students back to campus on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.  Below are some helpful resources for families as we prepare for the 2025-2026 school year. 

**IECHS students will return to campus on Monday, August 11, 2025.**

New Legislation—Personal Communication Devices Prohibited

Personal communications devices must remain off or on silent and stored in backpacks throughout the instructional day except before school or after school. Cell phones and other personal communication devices may not be stored on a student’s person.

NCISD Volunteers

The NCISD Volunteer application opens Tuesday, July 15, 2025. All new and returning volunteers are required to submit a volunteer application and pass the criminal history/background check each year. Visit our Volunteer page for more information!
 

Remind is now ParentSquare

We’re making communication better for everyone!  The district's new communication platform, ParentSquare, is an all-in-one platform that keeps you connected with our school. All NCISD campuses will use ParentSquare in place of Remind to keep parents connected and informed!

SMART tag No Badge, No Ride 

Starting Tuesday, September 2, 2025, all students will be required to scan their SMART tag ID to ride the bus home from school. 

All students will be issued a new SMART tag ID badge for the 2025-2026 school year at no cost. Returning students will need to use their old SMART tag badges until the new ones are issued. 

What You Need to Know: 

  • SMART tag ID Badges Required: Starting September 2, 2025, students without their SMART tag ID badges may board the bus in the morning, but will not be allowed to board the bus for afternoon drop-off. 

  • Lost Badge: Students without a badge will be allowed to board the bus in the morning, but must purchase a replacement badge at school. Badges are $2 for one replacement card or $5 for three cards. Payment must be received before the card is issued. 

  • Track Your Child's Ride: Download the SMART tag app to monitor your child's bus ride in real time.

The SMART tag Parent App is now available!
  • The new mobile Parent App has replaced the Parent Portal (web access). You can no longer access your Parent Portal account. 
  • SMART Alerts that you received as texts will now be sent as push notifications.  
  • The Parent App includes new features that let you choose a time setting for bus arrival notifications. You can also sign up to be notified each time you student loads/unloads the bus.
