Kenn Franklin | Superintendent of Schools
It is an honor to serve a district that is focused on each individual child and that is committed to the success of all children. At New Caney ISD, we believe that our teachers and staff are the greatest in the state of Texas. We are pleased to serve the children of our community and remain committed to providing the very best educational opportunities for all of our students.
Our community has been generous in its support of our schools. Our student population has increased dramatically, to the tune of 30% over the last five years. We are the fastest growing Houston area district and among the fastest in Texas. Our rapid student enrollment growth continues to create a need for new schools and updates to existing facilities. The patrons of our District have remained focused on meeting the needs of our children. In May 2018, thanks to the support of our Board, employees, parents and community members, voters approved the sale of $200 million in bonds to build the district's third comprehensive high school, build a replacement middle school and a replacement elementary school, and expand Woodridge Forest Middle School.
We are committed to meeting the needs of a growing population of students without losing sight of our goals. Academic excellence and a viable extra-curricular program are signature cornerstones of New Caney Independent School District. We are working hard to build well-rounded, creative and curious life-long learners. We are establishing a foundation for our children that will have an impact on future generations. Our programmatic goals are child-centered and research-based. We are a high performing district that never loses focus on the individual student. Thank you for visiting our website, and I look forward to meeting you soon!
