Mrs. Amanda Flowers
My name is Amanda Flowers, and I am starting my second year as the school counselor at Sorters Mill Elementary. I am thankful be a part of the Tiger family. I have been in elementary education for the past 12 years. I attended Texas A&M University where I received my bachelor's degree, and I earned my graduate degree from The University of St. Thomas.
I have been happily married for 12 years, and I have two wonderful kids who are going into 5th grade and 7th grade this year. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, dancing, and swimming.
The Sorters Mill Elementary School counseling program goal is to provide a comprehensive and developmental program to all students. The school counselor is a professional advocate who works with the staff, parents, and community to address the academic, social, and emotional development of all students. The program seeks to support each student in maximizing his/her potential in order to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners.
The school counselor sees students during classroom guidance lessons, small groups, and individual sessions. Students can arrange a meeting with me by asking their teacher, sending me an email with their parent attached to the email, or by filling out a paper request that is located outside of my office. Teachers can use a Google Form for referrals, and parents may refer a student to the school counselor by filling out a Google Form. Additionally, please email me at email@example.com or call me by phone at (281)577-8780.
