Mr. Robert Barham

Welcome to my page.  I teach two Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering classes.  Introduction to Engineering Design is an entry level course primarily for freshmen, though I do have a few upperclassmen take it, especially transfers from out of state.  The focus of the course is Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) with Autodesk Inventor.  However, we also learn the design process, sketching techniques, reverse engineering, technical documentation, and craft skills for making prototypes.  We learn how to design parts for 3D printing, and I have a 3D printer in my classroom.  Digital Electronics (DE) is 3rd year course for upperclassmen.  It is a DC electronics course that is quite advanced.  We learn basic wiring, circuit schematics, and how to design circuits using National Instruments Multisim.  In the second semester, we do a lot of hands-on activities such as soldering, breadboarding, and motion control.  This is a highly theoretical course; we learn Boolean Algebra, Karnaugh Mapping, and waveform interpretation.
