He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education from the University of Houston Honors College and the Moores School of Music. There, he studied voice with Dr. Timothy Jones and conducting with Dr. Betsy Cook Weber. He was with the University of Houston’s Concert Chorale when they won the Grand Prix at the Béla Bartók International Choir Competition in Debrecen, Hungary. He was also with the choir when they sang most recently at the TMEA, NCCO, and National ACDA conventions. He worked with Dr. Dianne Brumley as an undergraduate student conductor for the TCDA convention in 2018, where he was also the recipient of the Bill Gorham Scholarship. He has sung in Gianni Schicci and Les Contes d'Hoffman with the Moores Opera Center.
Mr. Goedecke started singing at a young age with the Houston Boychoir. Since then, he has sung with ensembles such as Bach Society Houston, Houston Men’s Chorus, and Suono Chamber Choir (A TCDA 2022 invited choir). He is proud to have sung with the GRAMMY award winning Houston Chamber Choir since 2019. In 2022, he appears on a CD with Houston Chamber Choir called Circlesong.
He enjoys spending time with his fiancee, traveling, and playing with his two cats, Penelope and Ximena.
