Pamela Hollingshead

This is my seventh year at New Caney High School. I teach English II, English I/II Block, and Reading 1-3. I love to read and spend a lot of my free time reading non-fiction about staying healthy naturally. I do like fiction also and tend to migrate towards the historical kind. I also love to paint--both on canvas and furniture, and I sketch too!

I grew up in Nebraska and got to Texas as soon as I could by enlisting in the United States Air Force and attended "boot camp" in San Antonio. I have also lived in Japan during my time in the military, and it proved to be a life-enriching experience and a tremendous opportunity to see parts of the world I possibly may never have. I highly recommend traveling when you can.

I have participated in extensive training in literacy through the Neuhaus Education Center in order to better serve my students. I earned an A.A. in Education from Lee College in Baytown, TX, and a B.A. in Literature from The University of Houston-Clear Lake. I am ESL certified, as well. I am a member of The National Council of Teachers of English and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and, as mentioned previously, served in the United States Air Force as a photographer and Photographic Quality Assurance Specialist.

You may contact me at any time via email or during my conference hours on my classroom phone.
