Pamela Hollingshead

 Greetings!

This is my sixth year at New Caney High School and I teach Reading I and (Dyslexia) Reading 1-3. I love to read and spend a lot of my free time reading non-fiction about staying healthy naturally. I do like fiction also and tend to migrate towards the historical kind. I also love to paint--both on canvas and furniture, and I sketch too!

I grew up in Nebraska but was "transplanted" to Texas while I served in the United States Air Force. I have also lived in Japan during my time in the military, and it proved to be a life-enriching experience. I highly recommend traveling when you can.

I have received extensive training in literacy through the Neuhaus Education Center in order to better serve my students. I earned an A.A. in Education from Lee College in Baytown, TX, and a B.A. in Literature from The University of Houston-Clear Lake. I am ESL certified, as well. I am a member of The National Council of Teachers of English and Phi Theta Kappa and, as mentioned previously, served in the United States Air Force as a photographer and Photographic Quality Assurance Specialist.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Don, and together we have a family of four sons and one daughter. We also have one grandson and two granddaughters. I look forward to sharing my talents with New Caney High School students.
