Mrs. Julie Tinnin BSN, RN
Hello. My name is Julie Tinnin. The 2020/2021 school year will be my third at New Caney High School. I teach Principles of Health Science, Medical Terminology and Practicum in Health Science. I am the assistant HOSA sponsor and am a CPR Instructor. This will be my 13th year in education. I graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1994 and have been a registered nurse for 26 years. I spent the majority of my nursing career as a Labor & Delivery nurse and have had the opportunity to work in Tyler, Dallas, Austin, Humble and Kingwood. I am married and have 4 children, a son-in-law, a daughter in law, 1 granddaughter, 3 dogs, and 2 cats.
My daughter is 22 years old and works as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Nacogdoches Medical Center. She and my, now, son in law, Mason Jones were married on December 12, 2020. They are both recent graduates from Stephen F. Austin State. My 20 year old son transferred this semester to SFA to from Texas State to pursue a degree in Nursing also. My youngest son, Jake, is 12 and is in the 7th grade at Huffman Middle School. He stays busy with football, basketball and baseball. My husband, Dean Tinnin, has been a Harris County Sheriff's Deputy for 28 years and is currently a Crime Scene Investigator for Harris County. My step-son and daughter in law (Cody and Meghan) gave us a beautiful granddaughter, Arlo, in 2018. She loves her Gigi and PawPaw and we cherish our time with her. We are truly blessed with such wonderful children!
I am passionate about nursing and I thoroughly enjoy teaching young adults how to care for people. My goal is to teach them the knowledge and skills to help them in their journey to a career in the medical field. Thank you for sharing your kiddos with me!
