Mrs. Anica Perez, Counselor (Last Names A-L)

Hello! I am so excited to join WFMS as one of your school counselors. I love being a school counselor because it allows me to connect with my students, parents, and staff. I will always advocate for my students because I am passionate about the mental health, well being and social emotional growth of all students. If your child is in need of assistance, please know that I want to hear from you. I am here to help your child in any way that I can. I can provide short-term individual counseling, small group counseling, guidance lessons, and referrals to community resources. Middle school is a transition period for so many students, so as your child's school counselor, I am here to provide support and help your child be successful.

Some background information about me: I moved to the Houston area over 10 years ago from the Rio Grande Valley. My husband was in the Army for 20 years, and I am so proud of his service to our country. I have two children and a rescue dog, and they all keep me very busy. This is my sixth year with New Caney ISD. I have worked as a Special Education Resource teacher and school counselor at the elementary level. I received my school counseling certification from University of Texas at Tyler. I have my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelors of Science in Psychology. I am also licensed by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Again, if you are in need of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. I absolutely love what I do, and I am here to help.
