Hello Parents!

This is my first year as assistant principal at Sorters Mill Elementary School and 12th year in education. I completed my Bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University in 2007 and my Master’s at Lamar University in 2011. I began my teaching career in New Caney ISD in 2007 as a teacher before moving to Goose Creek as an assistant principal at Austin Elementary. I returned to New Caney last year as assistant principal at Tavola Elementary, and later moved to the same position at Keefer Crossing Middle School. My wife teaches 2nd grade at Valley Ranch Elementary where my oldest daughter is in 2nd grade, while our youngest daughter is still in daycare. We expect to welcome our third daughter sometime in September 2018.

I am very excited to be a part of what's happening at SME. We are Tigers and our students are college bound. Our teachers are making a special emphasis this year on education after high school, letting all students know that learning doesn't stop when they receive their diploma. Whether that is traditional college, trade school, or military service, we continue learning throughout our lives. Please help us in this endeavor by talking with your student not only about what they did in school each day, but what they plan on doing with that knowledge in the future. Our theme for this year is "Tiger University - Achieve Your Dreams!" so please talk with your students how you can help them achieve their dreams.

It takes a village to raise a child and we are grateful you have chosen us to be a part of yours. Please don't hesitate to call, email, or stop by if you have any questions or issues at any time. Thanks for your support and we look forward to a GRRREAT year here at SME.

Hello Parents!

I am so glad that you stopped by for a visit on our website. I have been at Sorters Mill since its doors first opened, and am grateful to be able to celebrate another year at this AMAZING school! Moving from being a teacher when I first started to serving as an administrator has given me the opportunity to see, hear, and be a part of each classroom and celebrate the successes of all of our students. I look forward to continuing to be a part of the school-wide success that makes SME a grrrrrreat place to be. As you walk our hallways this year you will see colleges represented throughout the campus. Last year we earned the distinction of becoming a No Excuses University School. SME has the firm belief that every child deserves the opportunity to be educated in ways that prepare them for college. Our top notch teachers and staff at Sorters Mill are dedicated to this endeavor and have created a campus culture that focuses on universal achievement and the pursuit of excellence for each child.
