Welcome!

My name is Veronica De Leon and this is my 7th year at SME and 13th year in education!

I graduated in 2003 from The University of Texas-Pan American (presently known as The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  My certifications include Special Education EC-12, Generalist EC-6 and English as a Second Language EC-12.  

My passion is to build each of my students' confidence so that they can become believers in themselves! I believe in creating and nurturing a positive and safe learning atmosphere where my students are consistently motivated to take risks in their learning and experience the sweet feeling of success!!!    

I am happily married to my wonderful husband, Omar De Leon.  Together we have three children, Abigail (7), Hector (3) and Ben (9 mos).

I look forward to working with your child! We are going to have a GRRRRRREAT year at SME!!!
