Counseling

The NCISD counseling program is focused on helping students thrive academically, socially and emotionally, and graduate equipped to pursue their chosen college, career, or military pathway. Professional school counselors plan and administer a comprehensive school counseling program for all students that is compliant with TEC §§33.005-33.007, aligned with the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs, and focused on social emotional learning competencies.  Counselors engage in the delivery of guidance curriculum, responsive services, and individual planning as well as provide system support to remove barriers to student success and encourage student growth.

School counselors must implement a comprehensive school counseling program in accordance with state law and guidelines. Information about counseling can be found in the Student Code of Conduct & Handbook on page 45.  Parents can choose each school year to remove their child from the services provided under this program.  You can remove your child for the 2025-2026 school year by emailing your request to remove your child from counseling services to your child's counselor.
