Support Services

The custodial staff consists of 150 employees who are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas, as well as emptying trash bins, mopping floors, and vacuuming carpets.

Additionally, custodial staff often assist with setting up for events, handling minor maintenance tasks, and ensuring that facilities are secure at the end of the day.

Warehouse services in New Caney ISD manages and distributes various supplies and materials needed for operations. Their scope of work includes the following: 

• Shipping and Receiving
• Movement of furniture to and from campuses
• Auctions
• Maintenance and repair of custodial machines
• Distribution of instructional ancillary materials

The district employs one staff member to provide district wide courier services. They are responsible for all intra-district mail and mail through the U.S. Post Office. 

Excess furniture such as shelves, cabinets, and desks are stored in Warehouse 2 behind Pine Valley Middle School. To use these furniture pieces, contact the support services secretary to set up an appointment to view the available furniture. After selecting the furniture, tag the item and complete a work order for delivery. 

Our district uses a microprocessor-based energy management system to control Heating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), control lighting systems, and assist in implementing a system-wide energy management and temperature control strategy. This system also allows scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting systems in the field from a centrally located room. 

Our goal is to maintain 74 degrees temperature as a cooling set point and 68 degrees as a heating set point. These points were set as part of the energy management guidelines that were adopted in May of 2010.

Air conditioning run time schedules are manipulated in accordance to exterior environmental conditions and energy management guidelines. There are many influences on the temperatures within the buildings and our energy management team is consistently working to keep buildings working efficiently while maintaining a comfortable learning environment for our students.
