New Caney ISD offers a range of benefits to its employees, including health, dental, and vision insurance. Specific details about the benefits available to employees can be found below or in the New Caney ISD Benefits Portal.
Employees have 31 days after their start date to enroll in New Caney ISD benefits. If an employee misses the enrollment deadline, they will not have coverage for the remainder of the policy year. The next opportunity to enroll will be during open enrollment in August.
Employee benefits will be effective on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. The employee can elect for medical benefits to start on their active work date or the first of the month following active at work date by contacting the benefits department. If an employee elects medical to start on their active work date, premiums will not be prorated. Employees will be responsible for the entire month's premium.
Changes in benefit elections can occur only if an employee experiences a qualifying event. The employee must present proof of a qualifying event to the Benefits Office within 30 days of your qualifying event and meet with the Benefits Office to complete the benefit election change. Benefit changes must be consistent with the qualifying event.
Starting December 23, 2024, thanks to the new Paperwork Burden Reduction Act, employers no longer have to automatically send the 1095-C tax form, which explains your employer-provided health insurance, to employees unless the employees specifically ask for it.
