National Honor Society

  • New Caney National Honor Society of Secondary Schools Chapter

    The purpose of this organization shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in New Caney High School students.

     

    We will have our first NHS meeting of the 2021-2022 school year on Thursday, November 4th at 7:45 AM in room B117 (Ms. Evan's room).
    Our agenda will be:

    1) Elect officers from those who expressed interest in leading NHS this year.
    2) Decide the best day of the week, meeting time, and how often you wish to meet for the year.
    3) Review upcoming volunteer opportunities.

    NHS Volunteer Opportunities:

    I’m reaching out regarding an event, the Tavola Reindeer Run, that we will be hosting in the Tavola community in New Caney on Saturday, December 4th. 

    We were hoping to get some volunteers from The New Caney High School Interact Club  and would love if you would pass along this message with the attached link: https://runsignup.com/Race/Volunteer/TX/NewCaney/2018tavolareindeerrun where volunteers are able to sign-up with! Set-up will begin at 6AM and event will end by 10AM.

    Hi Everyone, 

    It's that time of year again!  We are starting to plan for our Angel Tree Christmas Event!  The Angel Tree is an amazing event where our  NCHS community, including our feeder schools, come together to make sure that our students and their families have a good Christmas.  
     
    This year we would like to help at least 100 families that are in need.
     
    Please click on the google form link to volunteer to sponsor a child, children or entire family.  If you are in charge of an organization you can also fill out the form for your organization.  
     
     
    We will send you information about the children/families you are sponsoring during the week of November 8th and the  unwrapped gifts will need to be dropped off by December 7th.  
     
    Please see the flyer below for a description of what we would like each child to receive.  Limiting the number of gifts per child to 4 is an effort to make things more equitable for all children in a family.   Many families have 3-6 different individuals buying gifts for them and we would like the children to receive a similar number of gifts.  If you are able to buy more please consider sponsoring more than one child.
