Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten

  • Registration Dates: Registration for the 2019-2020 Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes will be 11 am - 7 pm, Tuesday, April 23 and 9 am - 5 pm, Wednesday, April 24.

    Pre-Kindergarten

    NCISD offers half day Pre-Kindergarten classes to support the development of early literacy. Eligible children must be four years old on or before September 1 of the current school year and meet one or more of the following qualifications:

    • is unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or
    • is educationally disadvantaged (which means a student eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program); or
    • is homeless; or
    • is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; or
    • is the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or
    • is or ever has been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing; or
    • is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award.

    Upon completion of online registration, please bring the following items to your childs campus:

    • Proof of qualifying factor
    • Certified Copy/Official Birth Certificate
    • Social Security Card
    • Custody or guardianship documents relating to the student
    • Proof of residency (utility bill or lease agreement showing the physical address of parent or guardian)
    • Immunization/shot records
    • Most recent report card or grade transcript
    • Valid photo identification of parent or guardian

    Kindergarten

    NCISD offers full day Kindergarten classes for all children who are five years old on or before September 1 of the current school year. Kindergarten is one of the most important years your child spends in school. He or she will learn the skills that form the foundation for all later learning. Skills such as numbers, understanding words, recognizing letters, solving problems, following directions and getting along well with other children are the basis for future school success. 

    Upon completion of online registration, please bring the following items to your childs campus:

    • Certified Copy/Official Birth Certificate
    • Social Security Card
    • Custody or guardianship documents relating to the student
    • Proof of residency (utility bill or lease agreement showing the physical address of parent or guardian)
    • Immunization/shot records
    • Most recent report card or grade transcript
    • Valid photo identification of parent or guardian
