Parent Survey Results - July 2020

  • New Caney ISD conducted a parent survey in July regarding the start of the 2020-21 school year. The survey was distributed to parents through the district’s notification system. There were 5,405 respondents. The information from this survey, along with guidance from Montgomery County health officials and the Texas Education Agency, has been incorporated into planning for the start of the 2020-21 school year. 

    Survey Results:

    • How do you feel about sending your student(s) to school for on-campus learning when school begins in August?
      • Comfortable 39.3%
      • Uncomfortable 60.7%
    • If state law allows New Caney ISD to give parents a choice about the type of schooling their child receives for the 2020-21 school year, which would you choose?
      • On-campus, in-person model 48.5%
      • Online, distance learning model 51.5%
    • If New Caney ISD was unable to provide transportation to some or all students for the 2020-21 school year due to limits on ridership/bus occupancy, would you be able to provide regular transportation to school for your child(ren)?
      • Yes 67.7%
      • No 32.3%
    • If New Caney ISD closed at some point during the year and the time was required to be made up, which method would you most prefer for making up missed instructional time?
      • Add minutes to the school day 56.2%
      • Add days to the end of the school year 43.8%
