  • What is the district's plan for offering continuing educational opportunities for students?

    Posted by:

New Caney ISD has implemented an instruction continuity plan to support the continued learning of our students while school buildings are closed. New Caney ISD has a 1:1 Chromebook program. Students in grades 6-12 are issued a Chromebook at the beginning of each school year. Elementary students have access to a Chromebook in classes at school. To help facilitate continued learning for students while school buildings are closed, the district distributed Chromebooks to all elementary students who needed a device while away from school curbside at elementary schools in March. Paper copies of instructional materials were also distributed at that time. Paper copies of class activities continue to be updated and made available at the district’s meal distribution sites as well. The instruction continuity plan is updated regularly as new information becomes available.

  • How can I access online instructional materials if I do not have internet access at home?

    Posted by:
NCISD is also providing Wi-Fi Internet access for student Chromebooks at several school parking lots. Please remain in your cars to practice social distancing. New Caney ISD is providing internet connectivity at many campus parking lots across the district. These large hotspots are being made available for both students and staff who need internet service. Families and students will not have to stay in those parking lots with their children to complete all work. Work to be done can be downloaded and completed offline at home.

New Caney ISD, in coordination with the Board of Trustees, is working to continually monitor, plan, prepare, and respond to the changing circumstances. There have been several difficult decisions made in recent weeks about event and activities, and there will be more decisions regarding the 2019-20 school year as we move forward and more information becomes available.
