My name is Jonathan Powell, and I am thrilled to serve you as the principal of New Caney High School. I attended Houston Christian University for my undergraduate degrees and Lamar University for my Masters in Education. I have been in this community for the last 15 years and have served in many different roles. I originally taught and coached here at New Caney High School, then served as assistant and associate principal here. The last three years I have been the principal at Keefer Crossing Middle School.

Hello, Eagle Family! My name is Amber Beard, and it is my privilege to serve the New Caney High School community as Dean of Instruction.  I grew up in East Texas and earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where I majored in English.  I also completed my Principal’s Certification at Lamar University. 
I have 15 years of classroom teaching experience and spent the majority of my teaching career in Beaumont ISD and Humble ISD. Beyond the wonderful years spent in the classroom, I have also been fortunate to work as a District Curriculum Coach for English Language Arts and serve as an Assistant Principal in Channelview ISD.  
I have been married to my husband, Kenny, for 16 years and we have two amazing children, Reagan and Harper, who will be students in New Caney ISD. I am also a proud “momma” to two precocious dachshunds, both of whom were rescues. 
I look forward to serving the students, staff, and families of New Caney High School and am passionate about making learning relevant and engaging for all of our students. My personal and professional goal is to ensure that all of our students have the resources they need to succeed in whatever path they choose.  At New Caney High School, we believe in excellence and work hard to ensure our students know and have access to every opportunity possible.

Hello, my name is Nancy Cozad, and I am honored to be joining the New Caney High School Eagle family as Associate Principal.  I grew up in Port Arthur, Texas, earned my Bachelor's Degree in Business from Lamar University in Beaumont, and started my professional life in corporate accounting.  However, 24 years ago I made the decision to change course to become a high school teacher.  I have spent my entire career in education in Humble ISD, the last 9 years as Assistant Principal at Kingwood High School.  I earned my Master's Degree from the University of Houston, and my Principal Certification from Stephen F. Austin.
I am blessed to be married to my high school sweetheart, Kyle, and mother to three grown sons, Lance, Greg and Keith.  
I am very excited to join the NCHS family in support of students as they prepare for their "what's next" following high school.  I look forward to working with the outstanding faculty and staff; professionals dedicated to the success of all students.  I am passionate about providing an engaging and encouraging school culture that offers every student access to the best educational experience possible.

Hello! My name is Oluwasegun Adebayo, and I am proud to serve as one of our Assistant Principals at NCHS.
I am the youngest of five children. I was born in Lagos, Nigeria and my Uncle who raised me knew the value of hard work and the importance of education. He moved me and his children to the United States at the age of 14. My uncle dedicated his life to ensuring that all of us went to college and got an education to better our lives.
My past experience in education includes serving 4 years as a teacher and coach in Honolulu, Hawaii and 12 years as a middle school and high school Special Education co-teacher in Texas.

Hello!  My name is Bethanie Wheeler, and this is my 17^th year in education.  I am married to an incredible man (who is a school counselor) and we have an amazing daughter, who is an education major at Sam Houston State University.
After graduating from SHSU, I spent the first 5 years as an elementary teacher, then moved into secondary behavior after earning a master’s degree from Lamar University.  In the 19/20 school year, I moved to New Caney High School to support students as a counselor and now an assistant principal.                  
I enjoy working with students academically, emotionally, and socially while they are becoming the individual they are meant to be.
