This is my 14th year with New Caney ISD, and my second year at Keefer. The past several years I have served as associate and assistant principal at New Caney High School. I am married and have three wonderful children. I look forward to helping you. I can be reached at jpowell@newcaneyisd.org.

My name is Moseacke Tatum and it brings me great joy to serve the KCMS community and support the vision and mission of New Caney ISD. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce and my Master of Education in Administration degree from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX.  My experiences as an educator for 16 years have prepared me to work with both the students and the community of New Caney ISD. I have served as a teacher in 6th-8th Grade Science, Biology, and Chemistry. For the last 6 years, I have served as a district instructional coach. I look forward to growing future leaders here at KCMS and partnering with the parents so that we can provide a high-quality education for all of our students. 

Mariah Martinez holds a Master’s degree in Reading from the University of St. Thomas in
Houston, TX and a Bachelor degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of
Houston-D. Ms. Martinez holds a Principal certification from Lamar University, Bilingual
certifications (1-6), Spanish (1-8), and Elementary Education (1-6).
 
Ms. Martinez has served New Caney Independent School District for the past 10 years in
several capacities. Dual language teacher (2-5), Dual language coordinator, Grade level
leader, and EL Instructional Coach. She has worked at Crippen Elementary (2yrs.), Aiken
Elementary (1yr), Tavola Elementary (5yr) and Keefer Crossing middle School.
 
Ms. Martinez is a dedicated lifelong learner and is excited to continue serving Keefer
Crossing MS as the 6th Assistant Principal. Her vision is to serve the KCMS Family by
establishing trust and relationships with all Stakeholders.
