  • Porter HS Band advances to state competition

    The Porter High School Band made history on Oct. 28 at the UIL Area Marching Contest. This is the second time for a New Caney ISD band to perform at UIL State Marching Contest since 1991.

    Students at Porter High School will soon make prosthetic hands for people with missing limbs thanks to a $7,100 grant from the Rotary Club of East Montgomery County.

  • Dodgeball game fundraiser canceled

    Unfortunately, the dodgeball game fundraiser between NCHS and PHS scheduled for Monday, Oct. 30, had to be canceled due to a scheduling conflict. The game was intended as a supporting event for Camp Hope during the week of the Battle Line on 59. For information on how you can still support Camp Hope during Battle Line on 59 week, visit

  • AP Registration Opens November 1st!

    Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Porter High School desires that all students take AP exams for the AP classes that they have taken. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition. Click the headline for detailed information.

  • Two PHS students took top awards at the East Montgomery County Fair

    Tanner Hodgkinson, a senior at Porter HS, won Grand Champion with his project titled "The Prayer" The project was created using white colored pencil drawing on black paper. His artwork sold on Saturday night for $4,500.00 and received $400.00 in additional "add-ons" for a whopping total of $4,900.00! Gracie Evers, a Junior at Porter HS, won Reserve Grand Champion with her charcoal drawing on brown paper of cowboys on horseback titled "On the Trail". Her artwork also sold on Saturday for $2,500.00 and received an additional $400.00 in "add-ons" giving Gracie a total of $2,900.00!

  • Kali Simpson named 2017 Scholar-Athlete Award Recipient

    The Texas High School Athletic Directors Association and Whataburger recently named Kali Simpson, from Porter High School, as the 2017 Scholar-Athlete Female Award Recipient. As part of the award, Kali will receive a $1,500.00 scholarship. Click to read more.

  • PHS Criminal Justice Brings Home Overall 1st From El Paso Border Challenge

    On April 28 and 29th, Porter High sent 8 Criminal Justice students and 2 Fire Academy Cadets to participate in the El Paso Border Challenge. The weekend was action packed. Jacob Wilson, Sydney Busby, Bryan Rodas, Christian Hernandez, Tyler McDanel, Christina Bess, John Garcia, and Michael Carreon represented the CJ Department with Robert Barrientos and Madison Kleinsorge represented the Fire Academy.
