On February 1, 2025, the New Caney Independent School District Police Department received the award of "Accredited Law Enforcement Agency" from the Texas Police Chiefs Association Law Enforcement Accreditation Program.
The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Gipsy Leal to be the next principal of Tavola Elementary. Leal will take over the role for the 2025-2026 school year after serving as an assistant principal at Sorters Mill Elementary.
The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Michelle Kale to be the new principal of Dogwood Elementary. Kale will take over the role for the 2025-2026 school year after serving as an assistant principal at Dogwood since 2023.
As the 2024-2025 school year comes to a close, we celebrate the exceptional academic performance of the top 10 students at Infinity Early College High School, New Caney High School, and Porter High School.

The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Jeffrey Reece to be the new principal of Woodridge Forest Middle School. Reece will take over the role for the 2025-2026 school year after serving as an assistant principal at Porter High School since 2022.
The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Amber Beard to be the next principal of New Caney High School. Beard will take over the role for the 2025-2026 school year after serving as the NCHS Dean of Instruction.
On April 18, 2025, Amber Sturdy was honored at the Houston Astros game as the ConocoPhillips Math Teacher of the Month. Congratulations to Ms. Sturdy on this remarkable award!
Each spring semester, New Caney ISD campuses name their Campus Teacher of the Year. The Teachers of the Year exemplify excellence in the classroom and inspire students by cultivating positive classroom cultures. Congratulations to our Teachers of the Year on this award!
On March 15, Porter High School senior Hana Aoki took home the award for 3D Class Grand Champion at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. This historic victory marks New Caney ISD's first grand champion win at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
