Bens Branch Student Wins Arbor Day Poster Contest
Student Stephanie Bastard was one of those honored December 10 at a Holiday Reception at Conroe City Hall in Honor of Student and Teacher Arbor Day Poster Contest Winners. The reception was hosted by The Montgomery County Beautification Association. The Bens Branch 5th grader was presented a first place blue ribbon, a beautiful color certificate, and a check for $10. Science teacher Jennifer Reyes, who was also honored, entered Stephanie into the competition. "I am very proud of her!" She says Stephanie is very artistic and talented. Stephanie's parents were also at the reception to share in her recognition.
Also honored December 10, first place winners from Crippen, New Caney, Porter, and Sorters Mill Elementary Schools. First place entries from those schools and Stephanie's will go on to compete in the National Arbor Day Poster Contest. The winner will be announced on Arbor Day, April 30, 2010.
