6th Grade Campus's Marie Workman to Speak at National Convention
Marie Workman will speak at the 2009 National Council of Teachers of English Annual Convention Saturday, November 21 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Each year, the convention draws thousands of kindergarten through 12th grade teachers, college faculty, administrators, and other educational professionals from around the world. They gather to hear award-winning speakers, attend idea-packed sessions, share best practices, participate in workshops, and test the latest teaching materials.
Workman will be presenting during the panel session, "Out of School Lives and In School Connections." She will share with others how she helped students cope with the devastation of Hurricane Ike by cultivating their emotions into poetry and storyboards.
