Tasty Field Trip
Six NCISD middle and high school students traveled a short distance down Highway 59 to Humble Wednesday, October 21 for a day of taste-testing! Students sampled vendors' treats at the Commodity Food Expo at the Humble Civic Center. Their taste buds savored pizza, calzones, all sorts of chicken dishes including Asian, BBQ, teriyaki, hot & spicy patties, and a variety of hamburger patties. They also nibbled on baked fries and hash browns, egg rolls and whole wheat and reduced fat cookies. The various dishes were ranked, and the foods that scored the highest will become menu items in New Caney school cafeterias next school year. The big hits were the sliders, or mini burgers, Asian chicken and, of course, pizza.
