Student Brings Gun to Campus

A student was removed from the Kings Manor Elementary campus after bringing a gun to school Wednesday. Administrators were notified Thursday after some students came forward. The student’s guardian turned the gun over to NCISD police as part of their investigation.

Counselors are available for any student who needs to talk to someone about this incident. Also, KME is expanding a presentation on gun safety that had already been scheduled for Friday, October 2 for pre-K through 2nd graders to include 3-5th graders. In addition, a meeting has been scheduled for Monday, October 5 at 6 p.m. at the school’s cafeteria to address any concerns parents may have.

The children’s safety is of utmost importance to us. NCISD is currently reviewing safety procedures already in place to make sure that the District is providing a safe environment for students, faculty and staff. We also encourage parents to speak with their children about the importance of notifying a teacher, staff member, or parent immediately if they ever witness anything inappropriate. That may include, but is not limited to, a weapon, like a gun, knife or bullets, pills or drugs, or verbal or written threats. If your child should share anything of importance with you, it is extremely important to immediately notify the Administration Office at (281) 577-8600 or the NCISD Police Department at (281) 577-8695.
