New Caney FFA Wins Sweepstakes at District Competition
Six teams from New Caney ISD's FFA program will advance to Area III Competition Saturday, November 21 after winning first place at District last weekend at the District V Leadership Development Event held at West Conroe Baptist Church. The competition focuses on creating situations for FFA members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization. Team and individual events are used to reinforce what is taught in agricultural science classrooms. All LDE events have elimination rounds at the district and area meets before the state level competition. This was the third year in a row NCISD FFA won sweepstakes, or first place in District V.
Area III competition will be held at Blinn College in Brenham Saturday. Winners will advance to State competition in Huntsville at Sam Houston State University December 4-5.
