Recognitions and Honors

New Caney ISD was honored with many awards and recognitions at the ESC, Region VI Fall Administrators Conference and Awards Banquet Wednesday, October 28 in Huntsville. School personnel from 15 counties served by the region were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments and celebrated for their achievements. Among the honorees were the Region VI Educators of the Year, NCLB Blue Ribbon Schools, "Recognized" and "Exemplary" Districts and Campuses, and The Texas Business and Education Coalition Districts for 2009.

Charlotte Crabtree, White Oak Middle School Assistant Principal, was awarded the "Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Secondary Assistant Principal of the Year." She says of her award, “I am still somewhat overwhelmed with the idea that my teachers and fellow administrators think that highly of my work. There is not a day that goes by that I am not thankful for this opportunity that was given to me by Paula [Burk] in June 2006.” Crabtree has been with New Caney ISD since 2006.

Other NCISD educators honored include:

Kindy Tomhave, Sorters Mill Elementary, "Elementary Teacher of the Year Finalist"

Paul Batchelder, Jr., The Learning Center, "Secondary Teacher of the Year Finalist"

Betty Wyatt, New Caney Elementary Principal, “Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll Recipient”

New Caney ISD, “Recognized District”

Emerich will serve as President of ACET for the 2010-2011 school year.
