13 Teachers Honored
The Community Chamber of Commerce of East Montgomery County awarded
13 teachers in the New Caney school district with “Teacher of the
Year” awards for the 2008-2009 school year. The annual luncheon was
held Wednesday, September 2nd at the EMCID building. It was started
as a way to say thank you to the teachers in the surrounding public
schools and colleges for their dedication to the education of our
students.
Those honored were: Vanessa Duncan, Aikin Elementary; Marisol Inda, Bens Branch Elementary; Everett Goodman, Crippen Elementary; Dawn Garrett, Kings Manor Elementary; Mary Elam, New Caney Elementary; Alan Burd, Porter Elementary; Kindy Tomhave, Sorters Mill Elementary; Cherie Loyacano, Valley Ranch Elementary; Karla Young, Sixth Grade Campus; Kelly Holland, Keefer Crossing Middle School; Dawn Jander, White Oak Middle School; Cheryl Clark, New Caney High School; and Paul Batchelder, Jr., The Learning Center.
Sixteen teachers from neighboring Conroe and Splendora school
districts and Lone Star
College – Kingwood were also honored.
