    Superintendent Kenn Franklin

Superintendent Kenn Franklin It is an honor to serve a district that is focused on each individual child and that is committed to the success of all children. In New Caney, we believe that our teachers and staff are the greatest in the state of Texas. We are pleased to serve the children of our community and remain committed to providing the very best educational opportunities for all of our students.

Our community has been generous in its support of our schools. Our student population has increased dramatically, to the tune of 30% over the last five years. We are the fastest growing Houston area district and our rapid student growth continues to create a need for new schools and updates to existing facilities. The patrons of our District have remained focused on meeting the needs of our children. In May of 2015, thanks to the support of our Board, employees, parents and community members, voters overwhelmingly approved the sale of a $173 million bond. The bond package will provide new campuses, add classrooms to existing facilities, purchase land for future campuses, and construct a district-wide natatorium.

We are committed to meeting the needs of a growing population of students without losing sight of our goals. Academic excellence and a viable extra-curricular program are signature cornerstones of the New Caney Independent School District. We are working hard to build well-rounded, creative and curious life-long learners through innovative initiatives that provide excellent learning opportunities for our students. We are establishing a foundation for our children that will have an impact on future generations. Our programmatic goals are child-centered and research-based. We are a high performing district that never loses focus on the individual student. Our district is one of the largest districts in the state that has not only met, but exceeded the Texas Education Agency's 2013 accountability ratings. As professional educators and life-long learners; we aren't satisfied with our achievements of the past. We remain committed to high expectations and continuous improvement for each of our students.
