Our mission is
to provide a learning environment in which students can master
the skills and concepts necessary for success at all levels of
education in which they participate. We seek to cultivate in students
a positive attitude towards math, the self-confidence to be successful,
and a willingness to be a life-long learner.
Goals
The student
will:
1. Understand
that math is a language used to identify, describe and investigate
the patterns and challenges of everyday life.
2. Demonstrate and deepen his/her understanding of math knowledge
and skills.
3. Demonstrate and apply a knowledge and sense of numbers, including
numeration and operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication,
division), patterns, ratios, and proportions.
4. Identify and investigate problems; formulate and propose solutions
supported by logic and evidence.
5. Use appropriate tools (e.g., electronic equipment and computers)
to process ideas, access information, and display results.
6. Recognize and apply math concepts and ideas within and among
different academic subjects.
7. Be able to interpret and communicate information and ideas.
8. Estimate, make and use measurements of objects, quantities,
and relationships and determine acceptable levels of accuracy.
9. Use algebraic and analytical methods to locate and explain
patterns and relationships in data, solve problems, and predict
outcomes.
1 0. Use geometric methods to analyze, categorize and draw conclusions
about points, lines, planes, and space.
