Mrs. Chelsea Thompson

Hello and welcome to a new school year! My name is Chelsea Thompson and I am the speech-language pathologist who will be working with your child this year.

I graduated with honors from the University of Houston in 2013 with a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Psychology, and earned my M.S. in Speech Pathology from Texas Woman’s University in August 2015 (Go Pioneer’s)!!! I am also certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) in Speech Pathology.

I have provided constructive therapy for individuals from all backgrounds in clinics, schools, patient homes, aphasia facilities, and rehabilitative hospitals, inpatient and outpatient. I have a passion for assisting individuals in reaching a level of wellness and improving overall quality of life. I have dedicated my efforts to creating innovative therapy sessions that each student will enjoy while obtaining their goals, and hope to provide each student with a positive experience that will allow their communication to flourish.

My husband and I have been married since 2009. We have two children, Parker (1st grade) & Eli. Parker attends Tavola Elementary School.

In my speech room, we work hard to accomplish our speech and language goals, but I also love to keep things as fun as possible. I do occasionally send activities to work on at home because I’m a big believer that students who practice their skills frequently outside of school will make faster progress.

My hope is to provide students with services in a way that helps their education. Throughout the year, my hope is to also keep you informed of these students’ challenges and strategies that might help in the classroom when I’m not there. The more we’re able to talk (or email), the better – and please let me know if you have a preference on communication.  I will be at Tavola 5 days a week, though I will be off campus at times.

I am so looking forward to meeting and working with your child! We’re going to have a great year!
