KCMS 8th graders will go to NCHS to learn about the high school and see various classes, clubs, and organizations that they will offer to the 8th graders next year.
Progress reports have been posted to Skyward. Please check your student’s grades by signing into Skyward and then viewing Portfolio tab on the left. Progress reports 1, 2, and 3 will be posted, as well as, report card 1. If you need help checking your student’s grades, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.

The TX Department of State Health Services requires that all children entering Texas elementary or secondary schools of higher education must be fully vaccinated by the first date of attendance. All incoming 7th graders must have a Tetanus booster (or Tetanus containing vaccince within the last five years), a Meningitis vaccine and their second dose of Varicella. In order to begin classes next school year, your child must bring proof of having recieved the following immunization(s) on or before the first day of school, 8/24/15.
January 18, 2017 - Several employees were recently recognized by the New Caney ISD Board of Trustees for their reactions during emergency medical situations.
January 18, 2017 - Paul Batchelder, New Caney ISD’s Energy and Safety Manager, accepted an award on behalf of the district from Energy Solutions for the district’s work in reducing energy usage and cost savings.
Jan. 17, 2017 - The Board of Trustees joined hundreds of other districts and passed a resolution calling for the repeal of legislation implementing an A-F rating system for schools.
January 17, 2017 - A video production crew from KHOU visited Texan Drive Stadium and filmed students from the New Caney HS and Porter HS bands, drill teams, ROTC and cheerleaders.
January 16, 2017 - The Rotary Club of East Montgomery County presented the Rotary Vocational Service award Jan. 10 to area lifelong educators.
January 13, 2017 - Infinity Early College High School was created in 2013 and will graduate its first class of seniors this May.
Jan. 6, 2017 - The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released a provisional set of accountability ratings for school districts and campuses across the state on Friday, Jan. 6, based on the TEA’s new rating system scheduled for implementation in 2018. The Texas Commissioner of Education released a statement reminding the public that “the ratings in this report are for informational purposes to meet a legislative requirement and represent work-in-progress models that are likely to change” before the new system goes into effect in 2018. Under the current TEA school accountability system, all NCISD campuses, along with the district, achieved the highest possible rating. (Click headline to read full statement from the Commissioner)
December 16, 2016 - Porter Elementary was selected to receive 50 bicycles and safety helmets donated by Academy Sports & Outdoors.
December 16, 2016 - Three local organizations joined together in a literacy project and brought more than 800 books to students at Crippen Elementary School.
December 15, 2016 - Grant has worked at New Caney ISD for 17 years. He has spent a total of 34 years in public education.
December 12, 2016 - The party celebrated Peacock’s 39 years in education.
December 12, 2016 - Darst is partnering with The New Caney ISD Education Foundation in an effort to further their mission of enhancing education through teacher grants.
December 8, 2016 - Students at Sorters Mill Elementary participated in a door decorating contest on Dec. 2.
December 2, 2016 - Together, the schools collected over 3,000 food and hygiene items and $2,065 to donate to area food banks.
November 30, 2016 - Members of the Greater EMC Chamber of Commerce received a first hand view of area schools through the organization's annual Principal for a Day event.
November 30, 2016 - Special Education students recently had the opportunity to participate in the SUCCESS Golf event sponsored by the Be an Angel organization.
Nov. 30, 2016 - The New Caney Debate Team had great success at the Cypress Creek tournament.The team brought home trophies in 3 of the 5 events.

Thank you for taking a look at the Keefer Crossing Middle School website. It is a great way for you to stay informed about school events and about what is happening in your child’s classrooms, so be sure to explore our many webpages. KCMS offers a wide selection of academic courses and extracurricular activities, and we look forward to you and your student taking part. They grow up fast, and now they are already in middle school. In a short time they will be freshmen, and a few years later they will be adults. These are formative years for these students, as they will develop the study skills and work habits that will serve them from here on.
An important part of the school experience is involvement in extracurricular activities. Students who are involved in school activities generally experience greater success and achievement, and they develop lasting relationships with peers and instructors. At KCMS we have Orchestra, Band, Choir, Athletics, Yearbook, FCA, Student Council, Dance, Junior Historians, Art Club, Junior FFA, and many other organizations to join. I invite you to check out the many organizations that we have, and find one or two to get involved with. As always, feel free to contact us if there is anything we can do for you. Keefer Crossing Middle School is a great place to be, and we are glad to have you and your children as a part of it.
